Hootsuite, the undisputed leader in social media performance, has been guiding social marketers since 2008. As social media has evolved, so too has its role in the consumer world — once a connector of people, it is now also a place where modern relationships between brands and consumers are created, scaled, and realised. But, as social experts, Hootsuite acknowledged that those very relationships are on thin ice, and brands needed a first-of-its-kind report to better understand consumers’ wants and needs on social media to go from being tolerated to sought out. To help brands unlock the value of their consumer relationships on social media, Hootsuite released the Social Media Consumer Report, driven by a multi-channel global marketing campaign. The campaign involved teams across the Marketing department – including social marketing, video, content, PR, paid media, and more. Over 12,000 people downloaded the report, which was covered by 48 media outlets and achieved 276,000 LinkedIn impressions. This campaign was the first of many campaigns helping brands shift their efforts from simply managing their social channels to driving social media performance.
