The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) wanted to revolutionize perceptions of sight loss with the “See the person not the Sight loss” campaign underpinned by its groundbreaking #BeforeYouAsk interactive video chat tool, a collaboration with Wavemaker UK and Voxly Digital.

Wavemaker elevated the conversation into culture to drive mass awareness of the many types of sometimes ignorant and potentially harmful questions that the blind community get asked daily through AV, OOH, Radio, Social and digital. On Social, to reach a wide range of people across society with our important message, we planned our campaign across multiple platforms; TikTok, Reddit, Meta and Next Door. Our campaigns focused on driving maximum reach to ensure we got the message out to as many people as possible. The campaign was a huge success both on social and generally. We saw significant over-delivery in reach, alongside fantastic results for the video chat tool. The client was so impressed by the campaign results we were given a substantial upweight in social to continue spreading the important message.
