The Golden Ticket for Christmas Success

As we all know, Christmas in the UK grocery sector is a battlefield for attention! And with consumers moving away from discounters for a bit of festive luxury, keeping ALDI’s piece of that coveted (mince) pie was top priority.

That’s why, for our very first Starcom Christmas campaign for Aldi, we wanted to go all out, propelling their full range to the forefront of Christmas shoppers minds. Our objectives were twofold: beat 2022’s paid social performance, and reignite the nation’s love for Kevin the Carrot. But to cut through the hustle and bustle of the Christmas advertising period, we had to think creatively. That’s why we brought Kevin and co back to Tinseltown with a smart phased approach: firstly, a campaign tease where we drip-fed playful snippets of all of Kevin’s popular factory helpers (including Plumpy-Dumpties!); then a big campaign launch across Meta, TikTok, Youtube and X that focused on showcasing the full range of fabulous Aldi products! The results? Well, Christmas definitely came early, because we smashed all campaign objectives to deliver Aldi’s most successful Christmas campaign launch... ever!
